Majapahit-Free Wordpress Magazine Theme

Many of our visitors, members and customer known us as Joomla Developer. We have provided Templates & Extensions to the community for over a year now. This Year we decided to bring in some new young and inspiring web developer with wordpress background to provide the same things to Wordpress Community and beyond. We will start producing Wordpress Themes and perhaps plugins later on. As our gift to this great community, we give you Majapahit, a Wordpress theme with magazine style for FREE. We also would like to make this website care more to the web development world by sharing information updates and resources so that our skills can benefit for a wider audience.

Usage:

Zip file contains Theme and pluginÂ folder, put it at its own place and activate them both from admin panel.

To set the categories, open the settings.php file and read the instructions there.

Future Release:

Im trying to make the featured section to slide the images just like yahoo movies page, and also another Majapahit spin off design more to blogging and less news boxes.

great looking theme, but is there some extra help available somewhere (user forum or so) to help with configuration?

I get errors like this on my homepage:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function the_content_limit() in D:\xampp\htdocs\wordpress\wp-content\themes\majapahit\home.php on line 20

And setting categories via settings.php doens’t really work either.

doh, forgot to activate the ‘limit posts’ plugin, my bad. Thanks Ivan. Still, a user forum would be great to discuss various small issues. Like how to remove the ‘no category’ label from the site-menu, i’m sifting through the code now

we use a wordpress plugin named get-the-image to retrieve first image from posts.

Hey, great theme. I’m just confused about how you set the categories and the featured posts! I’m looking in the settings.php file, and I see the numbers associated with each category – only, I don’t know what to do to get them to match up to my own categories! Is there something I need to change in the Wordpress backend concerning my categories?

Also, I have a post in the featured posts sections with an image in it that doesn’t show up in the featured section. Am I correct in assuming the get-image plugin is supposed to pull any images embedded in the article by default?

you have to find out the category id for your site installation and set them in settings.php

How do you remove the large MAJAPAHIT header/title and replace it with my site’s name? Is there any way to do this without having to edit the theme’s code (I don’t write code and am not a programmer).

@dave: its compatible with wp 2.7.1
to change header, its not that difficult, just open the header.php file and replace the line contains logo insertion (logo.jpg) with your title name

Thanks for the fast reply. Great theme, and thank you for it. I will probably have to buy the premium version because I’ll break the theme I have, I’m sure, if I keep fumbling around with it.

To Ivan: I tried your suggestion but it didn’t work. But I’m sure I placed the site title in the wrong place. The only location I saw that contains the line logo.jpg was this, at the very bottom of the page in the header.php file:

bloginfo(‘template_directory’); ?>/images/”logo.jpg” />

Currently the logo is not showing on my theme but I can’t get my site title to show either.

I left off using the Majapahit theme and used another for my website instead, but I’m thinking of using this theme for my other site because there are no instructions for this theme. I had to go into the theme folder and delete the default logo and replace it, so now the site title shows. But how do I get the images to show up with the posts? I searched through the theme folders and there are no plug-ins showing; which plug-ins should be installed and how do I get the pictures to show with my posts? (Is there an installation guide?)

I bought this theme, but there are some problems. I have contacted support 8th of June and still no solution (1st of July now). Too bad as the theme itself is great..
